Welcome to Gooseberry Mesa Lodge

For those who love the outdoors and would rather spend their 'free' time hiking and mountain biking, this is the house for you. We frequently escape to our lodge with our two kids for peace and quiet, and to enjoy nature and the beautiful outdoor this area has to offer. We would love to share this experience with you too.
This is a great location for family getaways and adventurers seeking a central base to explore the surrounding National Parks. It is so close to Zion (35 mins) and Bryce (2 hrs) National Parks, 1.5 hrs to Lake Powell, 1.5 hours to the Grand Canyons North Rim NP and close to several state parks and national monuments. We are also within the immediate vicinity to world-class mountain biking trail systems such as Gooseberry Mesa, Little Creek Mesa and the JEM/Hurricane Rim Trails.
For the adventurous soul, head down the Smithsonian Butte Country Byway in your 4WD. Smithsonian Butte Back Country Byway is only 1.5 miles from the lodge and travels for 9 miles between Apple Valley on State Route 59 to Rockville on State Route 9. As the route winds down into the Valley of the Virgin River, you'll experience views of Zion Canyon, Canaan Mountain, the Vermillion Cliffs, and Zion National Park just four miles west. As you reach the highest points on the Byway, Zion's fiery landscaping, filled with buttes and temples, lays in panoramic glory at your feet.
